Meet Our Team

Kirby

Kirby

RDMS, (AB OB/GYN), RDCS(AE), RVT(VT)

Kirby joined our mobile ultrasound team in 2022 as a recent graduate from ultrasound school and has since expanded her expertise by successfully passing her echocardiography registry. When she’s not providing exceptional patient care, you’ll find her nurturing her garden from seeds to harvest, experimenting with new coffee recipes on Saturday mornings, or catering to her tuxedo cat Muffin, who insists on drinking water only from the faucet. Born in Puerto Rico where she lived for 15 years (thanks to her adventurous parents, not military service!), Kirby brings a warm, multicultural perspective and genuine passion for helping others grow and flourish—whether they’re her patients, her plants, or her beloved pet.

Kim

Kim

RDMS(AB OB/GYN), RVT(VT), RDCS(AE)

Kim has been a valued member of our Sonocare team since 2015, bringing nearly a decade of experience and dedication to patient care. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her tending to her garden, which serves as both her passion and the content for her YouTube channel “BACKYARDBLOOMSWITHKIM,” where she creatively incorporates scripture into her gardening videos. At home, she shares her space with Roxy, a spirited 9-month-old Corgi who brought much-needed laughter back to the house after the loss of her beloved German Shepherd, Sasha. Kim’s heart for service extends beyond her professional life—she volunteers with Destiny’s Calling, a ministry helping victims of sex trafficking, and finds her greatest joy spending time with her grandkids. Whether she’s starting her day with coffee, winding down with afternoon tea, or dreaming of her bucket-list trip to Hawaii, Kim approaches life with the motto “Do unto others as they would do to you,” inspired by her faith and commitment to caring for others.

Chelcee

Chelcee

RDMS, OB/GYN

Chelcee joined us in December 2024, and she brings a love for life that’s as big as her heart for animals. At home, she shares her space with quite the menagerie: three dogs—15-year-old Chaos (a mountain feist who’s been her shadow since she was 20), friendly Cooper the Labrador who loves creek adventures, and diva Great Dane Maggie who runs the household—plus 5-month-old goats Dolly and Mabel, and Bill, a 300-pound KuneKune pig with a weakness for belly scratches and fresh fruit. When she’s not caring for her animal family, Chelcee enjoys exploring her land with her husband, indulging her shoe shopping addiction, and decorating for every holiday (because why celebrate just one season?). Whether she’s dreaming of her next beach vacation or savoring her favorite homemade chicken pie, Chelcee brings warmth, joy, and a genuine love for caring for others—both two-legged and four-legged—to everything she does.

Haley

Haley

RVS, RCS

Haley joined our team in 2022, bringing East Coast energy all the way from New York to enhance our patient care. When she’s not working, you’ll find her embracing the great outdoors—whether she’s hiking mountain trails and discovering charming mountain towns or soaking up the sun at the beach for the perfect weekend balance. At home, she shares her adventures with Simon, a long-haired cream dachshund whose oversized personality more than makes up for his compact stature. Haley’s love for travel has taken her to beautiful destinations like the Greek island of Paros, where she discovered some of the best food of her life, and she’s already dreaming of her next bucket-list adventure to Italy’s stunning Amalfi Coast. Her adventurous spirit and genuine warmth make her a natural fit for our mobile ultrasound team, bringing the same enthusiasm for exploration and discovery to her patient care.

Angie

Angie

RDMS(AB OB/GYN), RVT(VT), RDCS(AE)

Angie has been a cornerstone of our team since 2010, bringing over a decade of dedication and experience to patient care. When she’s not providing exceptional ultrasound services, you’ll find her staying active through regular workouts and exercise, embodying her personal motto: “We are not promised tomorrow so live life to the fullest!” She’s also committed to giving back to her community as a member of the Pilot Club of Valdese, where she volunteers her time to help others. Whether she’s unwinding with episodes of her favorite show “Friends” or maintaining her fitness routine, Angie approaches both her professional and personal life with the same energy and commitment that makes her such a valued team member and trusted care provider.

Brittany

Brittany

RDCS(AE)

Brittany joined our team in June 2024, bringing fresh energy and a warm, family-centered approach to patient care. When she’s not providing exceptional ultrasound services, you’ll find her treasuring time with her family—the foundation of her happiness and what keeps her grounded. True to her Southern roots, she’s a sweet tea enthusiast all the way, proving that some traditions never go out of style! Brittany’s genuine care for others and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures make her a natural fit for our mobile ultrasound team, where she brings the same warmth and attention she gives her family to every patient interaction.

Kathy

Kathy

RDMS(AB OB/GYN)

Kathy is a true SonoCare veteran, having joined our team in 2008 and bringing nearly two decades of experience and expertise to patient care. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her exploring hiking trails, cherishing time with family and friends, or nurturing her love for plants—her latest passion project being a live plant fish aquarium complete with snails that combines her green thumb with aquatic life. During her quiet moments, she escapes into the pages of fantasy novels, particularly enjoying the “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series. Kathy’s blend of outdoor adventure, creative hobbies, and love for storytelling reflects the same curiosity and attention to detail that makes her such a trusted and experienced member of our ultrasound team.

Cherie

Cherie

RDMS(AB), RVT(VT), RDCS(AE)

Cherie joined our team in 2015, bringing a unique artistic perspective to patient care after studying photography at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Though she originally dreamed of becoming a photojournalist and spent years freelancing and working for a modeling agency, she found her true calling in ultrasound—where she gets to capture the most meaningful pictures of all. Her keen eye for detail and composition from her photography background perfectly translates to her diagnostic ultrasound work, where precision and clarity are essential. Guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s wisdom that “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind,” Cherie approaches both her art and her patient care with compassion and understanding, bringing professionalism and empathy to every diagnostic imaging procedure.

Randy

Randy

RDMS(AB), RVT(VT), RDCS(AE)

Randy joined our team in 2014 and has been covering all of our accounts on the coast of South Carolina, bringing over a decade of experience to our coastal communities. At home, he shares his space with six feline “squatters,” including two rescue kittens he discovered in his utility shed just before Halloween—skinny 6-7 week old babies who found their forever home with him. His green thumb, inherited from helping his maternal grandmother in her garden as a boy, has flourished into a passion for nurturing over fifty amaryllis flowers in numerous color variations. Randy and his wife are deeply involved in preserving local history through heritage societies and volunteer work at a genealogy library, where they give reenactment tours to tourists at historic sites and the island’s oldest cemetery dating back to just after the Revolutionary War. His greatest joy comes from his granddaughter, who just graduated high school with honors—an in vitro baby who was “even frozen for awhile but showing no signs of freezer burn,” as Randy fondly jokes—and from the simple pleasure of looking out his back door at the coastal beauty that surrounds his home.

Shannon

Shannon

RVS

Shannon rejoined our team in 2019 and brought her experience and renewed enthusiasm to patient care. When she’s not at work, her world revolves around her grandbabies—ages 3 and 6—who keep her both busy and laughing with their endless energy and antics. A dedicated coffee drinker who knows how to fuel up for those active grandparent duties, Shannon dreams of her next escape to St. Maarten, an island destination she describes as simply amazing. Her daily inspiration comes from her mom, whom she considers an incredible person and role model. Shannon’s love for family, appreciation for life’s adventures, and positive outlook make her a joy to work with and a compassionate presence for our patients.

Mary

Mary

RDMS, OB/GYN

Mary has been a versatile member of our team since 2010, providing both OB and diagnostic ultrasound services with over a decade of experience and genuine care for patient communication. Her dedication to helping others shines through in her wish to instantly learn sign language so she could better assist patients during their visits. Whether she’s starting her day with coffee or enjoying her favorite unsweet tea, Mary brings energy to everything she does—from attending music festivals and concerts to seeking adventure through ziplining and kayaking. When she’s not exploring the outdoors or chilling with family and friends, she’s dreaming of her ultimate bucket list destination: the stunning waters of French Polynesia and Bora Bora. Mary’s adventurous spirit, commitment to patient care, and desire to connect with others make her a beloved team member who brings both expertise and enthusiasm to every ultrasound appointment.

Laura

Laura

RVT(VT)

Laura is our newest tech, starting in March 2025 and covering our nephrology groups in the Raleigh area. While she may be new to our team, she brings over 20 years of experience in her true passion—floral design—which she’s transformed from a hobby into a thriving small business where she creates stunning wedding bouquets and event florals that make brides light up with joy. Though she can craft the most beautiful flower arrangements, Laura dreams of instantly learning woodworking and carpentry, laughingly admitting that while her creative designs are gorgeous, her building attempts often come out “wonky!” At home, she’s never lonely thanks to her three fur babies: Lucy, an eight-year-old mixed terrier who loves food and snuggles, and cats Toulouse and Molly (ages 4 and 5), who provide endless entertainment with their silly antics. Laura’s creative spirit, attention to detail, and ability to bring beauty and joy to others make her a wonderful addition to our team and a caring presence for our nephrology patients.
